Affiliate Strategies Of Pay Per Click Search Engines

Where are your ads being displayed?

The Untold Secret Of Pay Per Click Advertising:

An often misunderstood reality of Pay-Per-Click advertising is that many times you can’t determine where you ad will be displayed once you sign-up with one of the PPC Search Engines. In the incestuous world of online advertising, companies are often simultaneously competitors and partners. This is never more true than in the case of Search Engine Advertising.

Even The Big Guys Do It:

If the Pay-Per-Click program you’re using is from one of the major brands that has it’s own consumer search destination site (Google, Yahoo, Lycos etc,) it’s a little easier to tell where your ads will show up. However, even if you’re working with the major players, your ads won’t be limited to the Search Engine you signed up with. For example, Google has agreements with Lycos, Ask Jeeves, AOL, and other lesser known brands, to display ads from the Google AdWords program. Yahoo has relationships with MSN, and CNN.Com to display ads from its Overture Pay Per Click Program. Lycos owns HotBot.Com and has partnered with affiliates outside its network to increase the distribution of ads from the Lycos AdBuyer Pay Per Click program.

Distribution Strategies Of Smaller Search Engines:

Once you go beyond the major Pay Per Click Advertising programs it becomes increasingly difficult to know where your ads will appear. Most of the second tier Search Engines rely exclusively on networks of unknown sites for their distribution. FindWhat.Com, Kanoodle, Enhance and Search 123 don’t operate sites that consumers use to search the web. Because of this they have developed relationships with thousands of smaller sites to display ads from customers who sign up for their Pay Per Click programs.

Affiliate Traffic Isn’t Necessarily Bad:

Just because a Pay Per Click Advertising program doesn’t have its own search site to drive traffic doesn’t necessarily mean that the traffic is of lesser quality. Like everything else when it comes to a successful PPC Advertising campaign, the key is to track and analyze results on a daily basis. Set-up independent tracking URL’s for each PPC Search Engine you are working with, or use a third party tracking tool like Atlas One Point to track how many clicks you’re getting from each Search Engine, and how much of the traffic is converting into sales.

Can You Cherry Pick Affiliates?

As a rule, most Search Engines won’t divulge the list of affiliates they are working with to display your ads. Even if you are able to determine which affiliate sites are converting better for you than others, the Search Engines generally won’t allow you to cherry pick which affiliates will display your ad. However, some Pay Per Click Search Engines like Google allow you to opt out of their affiliate network.

Conclusion:

Driving traffic by displaying ads across a network of affiliate sites is a fact of life for Pay Per Click Search Engines. It’s not necessarily bad, but it is something you need to be aware of as you analyze which PPC Search Engines to use, and which ones perform. By displaying your ad on affiliate sites your marketing message is put in front of more people who are looking for the products you sell. The downside is once you move beyond the big brands and venture into the vast mysterious world of affiliate networks, there is a chance the quality of your traffic will decline. As long as you monitor your traffic sources for volume, and conversions, and adjust your campaigns accordingly you should be able to benefit from the increased distribution affiliates provide, while maintaining the profitability metrics for your Pay Per Click Advertising campaign.

The Long Term Benefits From Pay Per Click Advertising
Sunday March 29th 2009, 2:53 am

Businesses are starting to look closely at the long-term benefits from pay per click advertising. Pay per click search engines are primarily used for sales in the now time frame, but they are also being used to build a business identity that their customers will remember. This form of brand awareness can be applied to a company of any size, large or small.

If you take a look at a traditional magazine or newspaper ad, the companies are using that advertising to increase their brand awareness. The purpose of the ad is to direct the customer to their products or services but there is no chance to make a sale immediately. They are referred to a website or a retailer.

When search engine advertising, as potential customers search the web looking for a product or service and see the same site come up in their searches time and time again it begins to create that same brand awareness for that product or service.

Over 85% of all searches on the Internet are done through search engines and they are the best tools for enhancing a company’s identity. They are identity builders, and they direct targeted consumers who are looking for your product or service right to your doorstep.

In the long term, brand awareness can bring visitors to their site without additional advertising. By using the power of search engines you can use the Internet to deliver a targeted prospective customer who is actively looking for your products or services right to your doorstep and build long term brand awareness at the same time.

Seeing the Country By Motor Home

Have you ever considered seeing the country by motor home? It is worth doing and you probably want to go to every state and to do it right you need about four to six months to get to know each state and see a few of the favorite type stops. Now then I have done this and indeed 4-6 months is not so difficult in a motor home to go to the lower 48.

Now then I have also been to every city in the United States over 10,000 people, yes every city and sat in coffee shops and met the locals and discussed their towns, states and regions with them. The good and the bad and the ugly too and you know what I found? I found that there is a reason why the United States is indeed the greatest single civilization ever created in the history of the human species in all of written recorded history.

It is the people that make America and that is the truth. I know often you see people who live in mediocrity, self doubt and bitch and moan about everything. Yet as plentiful as these folks are there is a strong silent majority of folks who do really care about this great nation and there are a number of people in every city that truly work very hard to make their piece of America as great as they can.

There sure are some standouts out and around and they deserve a bit of kudos. There are so many great things to see in America and so many wonderful people out there, you really need to schedule some time and go see it all. It is fascinating and awesome. The United States has it all. Consider this in 2006.

Microsoft Has A Plan For The Xbox 360
Friday March 27th 2009, 1:40 am

In an interesting article from Fool.Com entitled “Why the Xbox 360 Is a Loser,” author Seth Jayson points out that the Xbox 360 is costing Microsoft big money. The article discusses how the Xbox 360 is part of a much larger plan that, if successful, will eventually lead to profits.

It is no secret; Microsoft is losing money and lots of it on the Xbox 360. Microsoft’s home-and-entertainment division has already lost $293 million on $1.57 billion in sales. And as Jayson points out, the more popular the console becomes, the greater the loss.

“Make no mistake: For now, and for the foreseeable future, the Xbox 360 is going to cost Microsoft money. The consoles are sold at a loss, and the costs of launching the new system will continue to grow. The more popular the Xbox 360 becomes, the bigger the losses will be.” commented Seth Jayson in his article.

The reason being is two fold. Microsoft is in a “marathon, not a sprint” to beat Sony (PS3) and more importantly, to be #1 in the yet undefined home media PC market.

Down the road Microsoft will be able to build revenue from video game sales, entertainment purchases, license fees, Internet advertising, and revenue from developing products for your living room

But for the time being, the loss has investors wondering if the media giant is moving in the right direction.

Only time will tell whether-or-not the long term plan will pay off. To be successful, Microsoft will have to depend on many factors, with one of the most important being, plenty of 3rd party support.

Is Pay Per Click your Best Marketing Bet?
Thursday March 19th 2009, 2:27 am

You may already have heard of this method to get people to your web site. From my point of view and experience it turns out to be expensive and you have to write the ads yourself, pay for them, and change and maintain them to be the correct ones to work and be the right price in competition with many others.

When people search for a particular topic like healing a headache or other malady, they will see in the column to the right an ad that when clicked on takes the person to their web site selling the book or service on healing headaches.

Advertisers pay a set amount for every time the ad is clicked by a prospect. This is referred to as a click through rate or ctr.

Yes, there are benefits: The opportunity to place your ad directly in front of a prospect at the exact moment they are searching for your product or service is good.

More benefits include your control over the keywords that best represent your product. The PPC model allows you to decide how much you are willing to pay per customer. You only pay for the click throughs, and these are your targeted audience seeking your solutions.

After using Overture and being disappointed, while doing a Google search recently, I noticed the small sponsored ads on the right hand side of the page were a type of pay per click called Google Adwords. I do know people who are successful with this company.

While this search generates targeted website traffic, the downside? You have to study what key words work best, and the best ones are much more expensive than other ones.
The popularity and growth of pay per click had also made it expensive.

The Horror Stories of Pay Per Click

Story One. One submitter got hooked because it was fast, exciting and easy.

Within days of learning about pay per click, she was generating 1,000 clicks per day to her various campaigns. She thought she was seeing success in pay per click.

In the early days of ppc, that may have been true because bids on popular keywords were just pennies a click. When her popular keywords were around $1 dollar per click, she actually lost $100’s of dollars per day. Along with that, her keys words got disabled and were disapproved.

Where were the sales? At the end of the first week, her adwords produced only $75 from over 5000 adwords. Count the loss!

You can shorten your learning curve if you like by taking a course in adwords, but you can just as well take a teleclass from a respected internet marketing coach who knows all of the ins and outs and do what’s already tried and trueas in this book. If you want to be more successful, go to Adwords-Hints.com/pay-per-click. Find tools for keyword analyzing, lowering costs and increasing click throughs. http://tinyurl.com/5nb46

Story two. One web-savvy friend used ppc ads in Google for a set of how to video for building a motorcycle, then a race car. Her sales were affiliate ones. At first, she invested $4000 and got back $7000 one month, but when more competition entered the field, her sales were not high enough for her efforts.

Story three One health author put a short ad in Google for a diet to heal a specific disease and her solutions. She said she sold 4,000 books within months that only cost her $400 in ads. Her ad led straight to her book’s sales letter.

This success story shows that if your book is narrow enough in its focus, you may want to try ads because there won’t be any competition, but if you have a general personal growth or business book, you will have to pay too much per key word to make any real money.

Story four. Although I already was successful with internet promotion, I thought I should try the Overture pay per click program. My web master helped me and charged me about $350. She did take care of the changes for a while, but then I had to do it myself. Using www.goodkeywords.com helped a bit. The less expensive key words didn’t work, and the more expensive cost too much. After losing around $800 I let go.

You may want to learn the lesson yourself, or you may want to invest far less money in ongoing internet promotion that is already tried and true over many years.

The good old days, when we all used to play games in a group are gone. In those days, the families used to have more than a single child and it was a joy to play games such as monopoly and others. The joy was in the games as well as the group interaction. Today with many families opting for a single child, free online games are a boon for that child and the parents.

Will, my kid never know the joy of the board games? Please stop worrying about that. Computer is there as a friend to play game with your child. Yes, I agree that it may not be same as playing in a group of children, but we cannot have our cake and eat it too

A child needs to play board games. a child enjoys the imagery of games such as monopoly. The imagination works wonders for a young mind. Now do that with your computer. Look for a good gaming site that offers free online games. Download few free online games and play with your child in the beginning. Once you know which games are good for your child, guide him/her accordingly.

Let the child enjoy the pleasure of playing against the skill of the computer. Slowly raise the level of difficulty and let you child develop skills and have fun. These games will not only give him/her pleasure but also sharpen the intelligence. They will also save you from the guilt of not having any body to play with your child.
