Greenwich council has announced a new deal for leasing of two floors in the Six Mitre Passage commercial complex. The building on the Greenwich peninsula is about to be leased out for promotion of investment all through UK and also allowing the Greenwich Council workers to shift from their current location to new shared offices in the building. The announcement made last week increases the worth of peninsula that also happens to be the first commercial district of London of the recent times.

It is expected that this shift will act as a motivation for other companies to shift towards Olympic Borough and choose Greenwich Peninsula as a favoured destination, especially since it was created after conducting a study of the economies of the host cities for Olympic and the changes that follow the Olympic Games.

Chris Roberts, leader of the Greenwich council pointed out that the city of London is facing new problems in the wake of the Olympic Games and the primary question before the authorities is to make the best of the economic opportunities that the Games will bring for the city. He added that the initiative for taking such advantage has been provided by the council as it has around 21,000 sq ft of office space of high quality that is situated quite close to the Canary Wharf. He also suggested that the Games can actually turn out to be a catalyst for economic resurgence of London and neighbouring areas by creating new jobs and developing business interest in the region.
